Angular cheilitis symptoms are really distressing and disturbing, as when you have this kind of condition, you will always suffer from very unconditional pain, and even having those cracked mouth corners that are very ugly. And it is very important for you to know what the common signs and symptoms are so that you would know if you are already suffering from angular cheilitis.
Everybody hates having stomatitis mouths, because the pain that comes from the dry cracked lips and those cracked mouth corners is really enough to drive someone very crazy. At some point, the pain is really very unbearable. So, for you to know if you have an angular cheilitis, take a note of the symptoms that are stated in the next paragraph.
The common angular cheilitis symptoms include the following: (1) there are resistant and superficial cracks and fissures in the corners of the mouth; (2) the cracks and fissures show signs of swelling and redness; (3) the lips and corners of the mouth are tender and sore; (4) sores and ulcers may develop in the wounded area and may start bleeding or produce pus; (5) painful splits occurring in the skin at the corners of the mouth; (6) extreme dryness and redness of the lips; and (7) bleeding sores when opening the mouth.
If you experience pain in your lips or mouth and you have a fever but does not have any cracks and tissue fissures in the corners of your mouth, then do not claim that you already have an angular cheilitis, for these occurrences are not one of the symptoms. Herpes and cold sores do not also have any connection with angular cheilitis, and so whenever you have these, do not assert that you are suffering from it.
In general, angular cheilitis symptoms come in the form of cuts or sores at the corners of the mouth, and in the form of dried, cracking lips. They also take the form of red spots or rashes, and swelling of those rashes around the affected area of the mouth. These symptoms can be very painful when they are not treated immediately. Also, the unpleasant appearance of the symptoms can become a big discomfort when facing a lot of people while in a very crowded public place. Unlike the legions that are really hard to treat and hide that sufferers will really do everything just to hide them and stay away from embarrassment, this condition is not a life threatening disease. And the angular cheilitis symptoms are curable as well. But then, at instant occurrences, the symptoms must immediately be treated to prevent more swelling, redness and pain that can be totally unbearable.
There are also other problems that you might experience along the inflammation of your mouth and lips, aside from those angular cheilitis symptoms stated in the previous paragraphs. These other problems that you might suffer as well are pain and difficulty in eating, chewing, drinking, talking and even smiling. Activities such as talking and smiling allow the re-opening of the sores, making them more prone to infection and inflammation. When these happen, the sores that developed in the corners of your mouth can start to crust over and totally scab. And along the regular cracking, swelling and healing of the sores come some itchiness in the affected area of your mouth.
Cheilitis is due to either a fungal or bacterial infection. Once you have noticed that you are already suffering from the disease symptoms, immediately consult your doctor for proper evaluation and treatment. This disease can be treated in many different ways, but will be depending on the cause of the infection and how serious the condition is. Have your doctor to diagnose you at once so that irritation and additional pain will not occur as dried lips or cracked mouth corners get worse.
